Meet Agnes.

Hi! My name is Lara, but I prefer Agnes, I am a South African illustrator happily living in Long Beach, CA

I like big words and very skinny pens, art supply stores and playing dress up, I am the worst baker in the universe®

If Agnes was a real person she would wear big glasses in a completely un-ironic manner, she would have more cardigans than you could ever hope to fit in a closet, and she would be terrifically afraid of the telephone.

Agnes likes things!

I enjoy walking to the beach, staring at strangers and anthropomorphism in general. Playing with clay sometimes makes me feel like a real human, and my social awkwardness has never met a situation it can't run away screaming, er, from.

German expressionism secretly scares me, and although I have a very small moustache I lack Frida's confidence and would probably paint myself without it.

 

I like to paint, and draw, and make awkwardly shaped vaguely organic ceramic ware, it makes me extra happy when people pay me to do these things.
